What We’ve Been Playing: 11/07/10

I’ve been playing not a lot of many different games lately, such as Wipeout HD, LittleBigPlanet, Everybody’s Golf, Joe Danger, 2010 FIFA World Cup and Skate 3. I’ve probably spent the most time playing LittleBigPlanet. The community are still creating brilliant and fun levels, I suggest you revisit it. I also spent some time completing Skate 3′s single player mode 100% but I’m not sure about buying the DLC.

Honestly, I’m getting there, but I’ve still not finished Red Dead Redemption. That’s been consuming most of my time, but I did slide FIFA World Cup into the disk drive the other day to right some wrongs between England and Germany. Let’s just say that I put an end to Klose’s career.

I’ve finally cracked open Red Faction: Guerrilla, so I’ve been playing that the most this week, and I’m actually having fun with it, running around, smashing the living sh*t out of stuff and swinging big sledgehammers into people’s faces after running and jumping through the air.  Ahh, simple pleasures eh?

Also, I’ve been questin’ with Pokeymanz in Pokemon SoulSilver.  Now I remember why I loved the series.  I won’t be using the PokeWalker abomination though: I’m an adult and that’s just cheating, plus I grew out of Tamagotchi years ago.  On my iPod, I played a bit of Mr. Space and Bejeweled 2, as well as Hector Badge of Carnage Ep1 (all good games, you should get them if you have a Touch/iPhone).

This week, I’ve mostly been taking part in that thing that people used to do where they read words on paper. Madness, I know. Anyway, it hasn’t effected much of my game time, spending tonnes of time on Peace Walker and an old PSP favourite in World Tour Soccer, in spirit of the World Cup, of course.

After going on a spending spree in the PlayStation Store I bought a few FirstPlay episodes as well as After Burner Climax. Thanks to network slowness I have only been able to download After Burner and a couple of FirstPlay eps (and their free minis) so far. After Burner is an absolute rush and I really enjoyed having a blast through the arcade mode, which has the same charm as the Mega Drive version. I had a go on Aero Racer (free from FirstPlay ep); it’s fun but the controls are strange and it feels like it could be tricky to get to grips with. On the PC I slogged through some more of UK Truck Sim, and tried aceing a few more levels on Peggle Nights. Good fun!
