Weekly Retrospective: 06/06/10

Hello again, another week has passed already!

We started off the week with another developer interview, this time with Cold Beam Games’ Steve Hunt, where he shared his experiences with game development and gave some more advice to any budding indie devs out there. Anyone interested in taking things a step further will want to check in tomorrow, as Robin Jubber from FuturLab gives detailed tips to those wanting to start the actual programming, from which languages to use, useful online resources and general coding pointers (I apologise to any coders out there for that unintended pun).

Hodgi headed up some football content this week, firstly with a review of FIFA World Cup South Africa and then a 5 Minutes With…Pure Football. For the racing fans out there, Blair created our ModNation Racers vehicle: The Official StartGame Mower of Doom. It’s a jet-powered lawnmower with a drill on the front, all dolled up in the StartGame logo and colours, so what’s not to love? On a more horror-filled note Mezino reviewed Dementium: The Ward, and for those who like to read game opinions in less than 140 characters, we had our Twitter Reviews for May.

Medianertia also launched on Tuesday; for anyone wondering why more content hasn’t appeared, there’s been a slight problem with the WordPress code that’s been introduced by a rogue plugin. I’m going to rebuild the site in the coming days (hopefully without any problems) and it should be back and fully functional soon. Oh yes, Dexter also had A Message for everyone about something he’s been working on for you all. It’s so secretive even I’m not supposed to know what he’s doing, but I have been peeking a bit when he wasn’t looking, but don’t tell him.

I’m off now to finish writing and scheduling a week’s worth of content. Enjoy the rest of your evening!*

*Provided it’s relatively cool where you are and you’re not melting, like some.
