Pure Football is the new arcade-style football game from Ubisoft. It puts aside realistic gameplay for hard-tackling, overly-skilful gameplay. Heading straight into the campaign you start by making your player, and then jump into a match with legends like Pelé. One that’s over you go back to 28 days later with the goal of getting your team to legendary status. Making your team is reminiscent of the fantasy mode in old LMA Manager games as you get to choose your team’s name, badge and your home, away and goalkeeper kits. With plenty of options to choose from you can make your dream team or just recreate the team you support.
The gameplay is basic 5-a-side with a few twists. Instead of committing foul after foul you fill a foul meter which awards your oponenet a penalty when full. This is great as it doesn’t constantly interrupt the gameplay but still rewards you for bad tackles on your team. There is also the Pure Shot which can be triggered by stopping the shot meter in the correct zone or by filling the Pure Shot Meter with each shot on target. So far Pure Football is looking great for a fun, arcade-style football game and despite the loading of certain sections taking a bit too long it’s still a good game. It’s a bit like what FIFA Street 3 should have been.

Reminds me a lot of FIFA street, and FIFA street was awesome!
This however… not so awesome…
FIFA Street 3 was terrible, though.
Gotta be honest. That looks like a bag of balls!
Not going to bother renting this after watching that video. Looked awful.
D: It’s rather good!
