Haven’t had much quality time with my PS3 this week, but I did manage to squeeze in some Red Dead Redemption time on Saturday. Although it doesn’t live up to the almighty expectations that some people had for it, there is no doubt that it is an enjoyable experience that will live long in the memory, as long as you are prepared to forgive a variety of minor flaws.

I had another blast of 3D Dot Game Heroes, the epic Zelda-em-up at the start of the week, and I haven’t touched it since (for shame!). However, I have been getting a few things on Steam and I had a quick go at World Of Goo and sunk a couple of hours into the wonderful Machinarium. Towards the end of the week, I got myself ModNation Racers on PSP (the digital version off PSN Store), which is almost exactly the same as it’s big brother, just a little less pretty, and of course MNR in all it’s HD glory on PS3, and Split/Second (*sigh* “Velocity”, completely unnecessary title tag) also on PS3. Vroom vroom fun has been had, as they are both solid racers with that little bit of difference to make them stand out in the market. Blur next week as well, which should be quite a lot of mental too. “GO GO GO GOOOOO”"

This week I played a bit more Skate 3 for my review but over the past two days I’ve been playing Red Dead Redemption. It starts relatively slow but I’m starting to really get into the more exciting missions now.

I’ve played some Modern Warfare 2 this week and I’ve actually been enjoying it (oh my god!), it’s such a great laugh with friends. I’ve also had a quick blast of 3DDGH and Anarchy: Rush Hour. I played some Forza 3 at a friends house, but he’s still better than me! I have delayed buying Modnation Racers, Split/Second and Red Dead Redemption until after my exams, so I’ll get them in a few weeks!

What I’ve been playing this week: A little bit of puzzle action on the Wii with Boom Blox Bash Party and still desperately trying to get those star ranks on Mariokart. On the DS it’s been Pokemon Soulsilver and Dementium: The Ward. Yes that is a bit of a worrying mix…………

Another slow gaming week for me…starting to see a bit of a pattern emerge, here. This week I’ve split my time between WET, which is fun but still extremely repetitive, GTAIV, where I’m enjoying free-roaming action until Red Dead Redemption arrives, and Coconut Dodge, a charming little PlayStation mini from the guys at FuturLab. Very addictive and has some cracking tunes, too.
