What We’ve Been Playing: 16/05/10

What have I been playing this week? Well, not much to be honest. I finished 3D Dot Game Heroes on Monday which was awesome, so I can’t wait to jump back into it with the New Game+ option and have a full explore of the entire game world. I also had a couple of sessions on GTAIV and NFS: Shift, and they’re still great fun to mess around with.

Well, I started out with a little bit of Beaterator on PSP, which will take some getting used to.  A little bit of Vector TD and Tetris.  Oh and pure awesomeness with 3d Dot Game Heroes.  Nice!

I have always held the notion that videogaming would never fail to captivate me or amuse me, but nowadays I am somehow being forced to doubt myself. I look over at my PS3 under the telly, and for once it doesn’t seem as appealing or inviting as it once did. Okay, I did receive FIFA World Cup through the post in the week and I did get some quality time with that, but my other games are just sitting in a draw gathering dust. Whether it is due to amount of work that I am currently trawling through or something else, I am, to put it frankly, bored of gaming. If Modnation Racers fails to reinvigorate my gaming habits, I may have to consider whether it is worth putting my effort into something I no longer enjoy.

This week has been all about the Xbox 360 and the splitscreen. Me and the younger sibling have played: Halo Reach beta, Halo 3, Halo ODST, Gears of War 2 and Modern Warfare 2. Quite a lot! We’ve been playing to have all sorts of crazy fun, get achievements and to enjoy the thrills of being able to work together to complete a goal all in the comfort of your own sofa.

I seem to have actually done some school work this week rather than play lots of games! I’ve played some World of Goo here and there, but work has taken priority as I have a deadline in June! I got 3D Dot Game Heroes on Thursday and this seems to have pulled me away from my work, but I’ll manage to balance it out. I wont have much presence on StartGame over the next few weeks because of this deadline and my exams, but I’m still alive!

Over the past few days I’ve been playing Skate 3. My first impressions are here and you can expect a full review soon. Other than that I’ve been playing more 2010 FIFA World Cup South Africa with the Online World Cup mode which is brilliant.
