Well, it’s going to be a short one this week. The site’s doing fine and there haven’t been any major changes to speak of, apart from that “Follow Us” button you see by the scroll bar. It was moved from the footer to be more visible; if you like what we do and want to keep up to date with all our articles and competitions, go ahead and give it a click.
We’re keeping as many of our article series’ going as possible alongside the standalone articles such as reviews and blogs. Retro Reviews has been resurrected after a month break, and once some cables finally arrive (which were ordered early last week, bloody Royal Mail) I’ll be able to get my NES (and other consoles) back up and running. It’s a busy time for some of the writers, so articles have been a bit thin lately. Don’t fret, though, we’ll soon be back to full force. One of us is also working on a secret project and if I told you what it was, I would be dead.
If I stop rambling and get onto the gaming scene for a minute or two, it’s ‘all aboard the hype train’ as details of LittleBigPlanet 2 have been leaked a bit early. From magazine scans to screenshots, there have been all sorts of LBP2 tidbits doing the rounds ahead of an apparent information embargo which lifts tomorrow. Although all sources point to it being a completely different game, the screens tell a different story; there are some new gameplay elements but as a whole it looks exactly like the first so far. I guess we’ll have to wait until tomorrow for more information – hopefully it’s from something more gaming-oriented than The News of the World.
In other news, some budding gamer decided to take the gaming community for a ride on the back of the LBP2 hype. As we know, the PSN shows your friends what you’re currently playing – in the case of LittleBigPlanet, it’s usually in the form of the game name followed by the level you’re playing. Cunningly calling one of his levels “2 [BETA] Pod”, this showed up to his friends as “LittleBigPlanet 2 [BETA] Pod 1/4″. It spread over twitter pretty quickly, and even caused a few people to frantically start asking where you could get beta keys. A genius trick, but it was soon outed as fake when all the sites (who posted it as news, funnily enough) latched on to their mistake.
So, we’ll definitely be looking out for LittleBigPlanet 2 info next week, and going from the screens it looks like we could be seeing a live demo at E3. Very exciting. Check the site next week for a full 3D Dot Game Heroes review, some Silver Surfing from the early 90s and controller evolution, amongst others. Enjoy!

Don’t get me started on Royal Mail! Losing my parcel…twice!
