First Impression: Half-Minute Hero: Hero 30 Demo

An interesting mechanic of setting you 30 seconds to complete an RPG game is ludicrous.  Or is it?

Half-Minute Hero is just such an RPG game: it gives you 30 seconds to complete a story, but you also must level up and buy equipment in that time.  The Hero 30 demo gives you a taste of the first game mode (of 3 in the full release).

I plunged my big toe into this new IP and was left sweaty (er) and with my heart racing as I had just one second spare after completing the mission.

This is one intense and quick little game.  It’s short enough to give you a quick blast of RPG gameplay while you’re waiting on the bus, but offers even more of a thrill that doesn’t compromise.

The visuals are retro, but they work incredibly well and are reminiscent of classic Final Fantasy games.
