Playstation 3s look quite bland, right? Wrong.
These consoles are edited (no, not the Photoshop kind – the real life kind) with custom game graphics, logos and colour designs and they look simply fantastic. These custom made Playstations chose to be different, and this article is going to explain why.
To start, the Metal Gear Solid 4 Playstation to the left needs an honourable mention due to the game it’s based on being one of the most anticipated PS3 exclusives. It was custom built, complete with 14 LEDs to make it just short of perfect. To top it all off, it even has a signature from the mastermind of the Metal Gear series himself, Hideo Kojima. Do you want one? I’m sorry, but you will have to hunt down the owner as this is one of a kind. This was sold at the release of MGS4 on eBay and sold for $17,100.

If you thought that was awesome, that was just the beginning. It may not be as shiny, but this God of War 3 custom console skin (of unknown origin) is brutal. It shows Kratos doing his usual duties, destroying everything that opposes him. Pretty.
The custom PS3 slims on the left are from ColorColourWare, and as you may well find out, you can order a huge variety of different colours and styles, customising everything from the base to the top and even the PS3 logo itself.
You – yes, you can create it yourself – can choose from solid, metallic or pearl colours – and there are over 40 of them. It costs you postage to send it out to them and about £150 to customise your console, worth it for a few pretty colours?

ut a more portable Playstation (Isn’t that the PSP?) This custom laptop, made by Ben Heck, plays all the latest PS3 games on the go, and even has a built in screen – nifty. This could be very useful, and perhaps extremely heavy if you are travelling and want to get some gaming done, but unless you can’t resist a dualshock, a handheld would suffice.
An inclusion of a keyboard and mouse would have been a nice feature, but sadly, the only thing you’ll be gaming with is your trusty Dualshock 3 (or sixaxis if you’ve still not upgraded).

I’m in love with the MGS4 one, I think I can remember seeing the auction for it.
